About The Position

The 4/5 West Observation Unit at Parkview Randallia is a brand new 20-bed unit designed to serve low-acuity patients with an expected length of stay of less than 48 hours, typically averaging around 24 hours. This unit is evenly divided between 4 West and 5 West and functions as a short-stay observation area characterized by frequent admissions and discharges in a fast-paced environment. Nurses on this unit are responsible for caring for patients admitted for brief observation and may also provide support for after-hours infusions, working collaboratively with one patient care technician per floor.

Requirements

• Diploma in nursing or an ASN/BSN
• Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license
• CPR certification
• Additional certifications may be required for specified areas
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Care for patients admitted for brief observation
• Support after-hours infusions
• Work alongside one patient care technician per floor
