About The Position

Under general supervision of the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Manager, uses the nursing process to safely perform OP Infusion patient care and education. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the continuity of care for patients receiving Intravenous, Subcutaneous, and Intramuscular treatment therapies administered by, not limited to, peripherals IVs, Midlines, PICC lines and Medi ports. Infusion Nurse must ensure safety, monitor for adverse reactions, and provide emotional support and education during therapy. Works collaboratively with referring and ordering physicians and other staff members associated with Southwest Health as well as non-associated providers. The OP Infusion Registered Nurse will be assigned 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0730am-1600pm. The OP Infusion RN is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Will be responsible to assist with orientation and preceptorship of nursing, technical, and clerical personnel assigned to the department. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Will be responsible to document total patient care given, review and maintain patient EMR per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into computer system. Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
