About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. This role involves assessing, monitoring, detecting, planning, and taking appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promote optimal levels of health. The nurse is accountable for integrating care within the scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience. The position reports to the shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager, utilizing Policies and Procedures to guide job duties. Level-specific criteria are evaluated annually as part of the MNM Clinical Ladder.

Requirements

License to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
Competent within 6 months of hire with all age groups within defined patient population.
Demonstrates sensitivity when interacting with diverse ethnic groups.
BLS certified

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based upon a physiological, psychosocial, spiritual assessment consistent with patient/significant other’s changing needs & goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the “Caring-Quality Model.”
Seeks life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
Demonstrates leadership through sharing of knowledge, being a clinical resource, and professional role model.
Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication.
Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and ability to assist others in order to contribute to overall performance of the team.
Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.
