About The Position

The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119 bed inpatient behavioral health facility with numerous outpatient programs which span the entire continuum of care. The beautiful 52-acre rural campus is located minutes outside of State College in Central PA. The Meadows provides comprehensive care to children through geriatrics. Full-Time status qualifies for a $ 30,000.00 sign on bonus!! RN Role/Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for al patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units. The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care and oversees the unit activites for each shift. The Registered Nurse completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift Nurse is also responsible for completing the Columbia Suicide Assessment on all new admissions and on any patient that has a change in their suicide risk level. The Registered Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices , including patient education The Registered Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans Oversees Mental Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses working on the unit

Requirements

  • Valid Pennsylvania Registerd Nursing License or Temp Permit to Practice
  • Genuine interest in Psychiatric Nursing
  • Previous Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred, not required as we provide on the job training and education
