About The Position
The Labor & Delivery Unit at Carolinas Medical Center supports our surrounding area as the regional high risk transfer center. We have 22 Labor Deliver Recovery Rooms (LDR’s), 4 OB Observation Rooms, 4 Obstetrical Operating Rooms, 5 PACU rooms and 8 Ob Triage rooms. This department is a high energy unit and serves over 7,400 women annually. Our department is supported 24/7 by our physician partners in Anesthesia, Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Neonatal Intensive Care unit. We are a Magnet designated Facility and a participant in the North Carolina Breastfeeding Stars program. We provide onsite training for nurses with a passion for perinatal nursing, pre-certifications are not necessary, the courses are included in our orientation process. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred.
