About The Position

Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) seeking a meaningful role where your skills directly contribute to patient recovery? What You'll Do As an RN at RCA, you will: Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients to gather case history. Plan and provide nursing care for patients. Collaborate with team members to create a therapeutic environment, utilizing verbal de-escalation and therapeutic communication. Monitor patients utilizing CIWA/COWS assessments and measuring vital signs during their detoxification, providing medication as ordered and contacted medical providers when necessary. Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Prepare paperwork and medications for patients discharging next shift. Administer and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. Arrange further medical attention when necessary. Drug addiction treatment works, and substance abuse recovery is possible. Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or the ability to get licensed)
  • Availability to work rotating weekends, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; thorough knowledge of facility proprietary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in behavioral health or addiction is preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology preferred
