What You'll Do As an RN at RCA, you will: Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients to gather case history. Plan and provide nursing care for patients. Collaborate with team members to create a therapeutic environment, utilizing verbal de-escalation and therapeutic communication. Monitor patients utilizing CIWA/COWS assessments and measuring vital signs during their detoxification, providing medication as ordered and contacted medical providers when necessary. Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Prepare paperwork and medications for patients discharging next shift. Administer and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. Arrange further medical attention when necessary. Drug addiction treatment works, and substance abuse recovery is possible.
