Registered Nurse | Float Pool
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool operates at the basic level of professional nursing practice. This role involves identifying and implementing nursing interventions, particularly those with less predictable outcomes, and subsequently evaluating their results for a specific patient population. Nurses at this level may also be required to take on leadership responsibilities. The Float Pool nurses provide care to patients across various units, including the ER, ICU (for those with specific training), Ambulatory Care Department, Med/Surg, and Women and Children’s units.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure in the State of Minnesota
- Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients of all ages in relation to the growth and development processes to include neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement nursing interventions that have less predictable outcomes
- Evaluate the results of nursing interventions for a given patient population
- Assume leadership responsibility as required
- Serve patients on units such as ER, ICU (if trained), Ambulatory Care Department, Med/Surg, and Women and Children’s
