Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, located on a serene 37-acre campus. Lakeside provides comprehensive programs for children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors, treating disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illnesses, and addictive disease disorders like alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse. The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit, adhering to the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. This role involves prescribing, coordinating, and delegating nursing care using the nursing process, integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis, responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice, and may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities. Staff must be flexible for reassignment to units caring for varied populations.
