Lakeside Behavioral Health System is a premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region, operating since 1969. It is a 365-bed facility, one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States, situated on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County. Lakeside provides treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors for a range of disorders including bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illnesses, and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse. The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit, adhering to the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. This role involves prescribing, coordinating, and delegating nursing care through the nursing process, which is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team's plan of care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis, is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit, and may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations.
