About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health, assessing the patient's human response to actual and potential health problems, implementing nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts from nursing and other arts and sciences and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes, and provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies Whenever possible, the patient, the family or those significant to the patient are an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of the IP RN. The RN is responsible to supervise/direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. The Registered Nurse is responsible to assign/delegate care to other qualified members of the health care team. The IP RN coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Unit-based activities which contribute to a positive work and professional environment are performed, including but not limited to: - Demonstrate ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state of Florida - Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures - Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures - Demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure - Prepare patient meals in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols - Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needs - Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards - Adheres to established facility/departmental policies and procedures - Attends and participates in all applicable facility meetings, training and development workshops - Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor - Coordinates discharge planning and post acute placement of patients as required The RN provides and coordinates care to achieve the organization�s mission of excellent patient care and nursing�s vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years� experience in a hospital progressive care or intensive care unit or equivalent experience
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida
  • Current BLS, ACLS

Nice To Haves

  • BSN and professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
