About The Position

The Augusta Health Inpatient Surgical/Orthopedics Unit is a specialized 24-bed department. As a proud Orthopedic Center of Excellence organization, surgical/orthopedic nurses provide high quality care to a variety of surgical cases, all in the luxury of private rooms. Our patient population experience a variety of operations ranging from orthopedics, general surgery, thoracic, urology, gynecology, and vascular cases. The Surgical Unit will offer you a chance to utilize your excellent assessment skills and broaden your knowledge of both surgical and medical level of care patients. We currently are seeking a highly engaged Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for providing exceptional care to our community. Surgical nurses are the coordinator of upholding nursing standards of care through the nursing process while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Requirements

  • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • 2 years of RN experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong desire to work with a high-risk and complex patient population.
  • Solid critical thinking skills and a strong application of the nursing process.
  • Positive attitude, with enthusiasm for caring for our community
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Desire to grow professionally
  • Must have effective adherence to infection control practices.
