About The Position

Great opportunity for a high energy registered nurse to join our multidisciplinary cardiac rehab team. Candidates will hold a passion for wellness and demonstrate effective people skills to navigate our patients to improved quality of life and prevention of future disease. Job Function: Conducts evaluations on new patients as part of program intake process. Develops, implements and evaluates the individualized treatment plan . Supervises participant clinical status before, during and after exercise. Collaborates with exercise physiologist on developing and modifying the exercise component of program. Assess's educational need and provides education throughout program on risk factors for heart disease, healthy diet, activity, exercise, and stress management. Promotes use of resources to further patient education and long-term self-care of disease. Has basic knowledge in physiological response to exercise and therapeutic benefit. Identifies both normal and abnormal changes during exercise and appropriately escalates to emergency care when needed. Monitors ECG pre, peak post exercise session with ability to recognize and provide intervention on specific rhythms. Works independently and with team on quality improvement and outcome measures. Acts as educator for our Cardiovascular Surgical Program through formal in person and/or virtual classes. Collaborates with team and leadership on maintaining Magnet and Joint Commission readiness. Identifies own learning needs and seeks AHS educational opportunities. Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others in problem solving and patient care. Other projects and or committee involvement both community or center based may be assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN
  • Valid NJ License required
  • BLS
  • ACLS

Nice To Haves

  • Relative experience: Preferred 1-3 years cardiac rehab experience
  • AACVPR-CCRP (scheduled 1 year within hire)
