About The Position

Work Schedule: This is a weekender position, 90% FTE, 8/12-hour evening/night shift primarily to be 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, working every weekend. Eligible for weekender differential of $10/hour for applicable weekend hours worked. Holiday rotation required. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to: Practice at University Hospital in Madison, ranked among the nation’s top heart hospitals, and be part of a high-performing cardiac team delivering exceptional outcomes. Thrive in a fast-paced 23-bed cardiac/telemetry unit caring for intermediate and general cardiology patients, supported by central monitors throughout the unit and strong interdisciplinary collaboration. Provide expert care for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, and dysrhythmias, including management of titratable vasoactive drips. Partner closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab for pre- and post-procedure care, and collaborate with advanced heart failure teams managing pre-transplant and LVAD patients within a growing, innovative program. Hear how this team is making an impact. Pay: Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening, $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked. Weekender positions qualify for the $10/hr weekender differential as applicable for hours worked. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
  • Relevant RN experience Preferred
  • Relevant certification Preferred
