About The Position

Medical Intensive Care Unit The Canonsburg ICU is an 8-bed unit that offers both intensive care and step-down capabilities, providing comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. Registered Nurses (RNs) in this department manage complex conditions across various specialties, including cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, nephrology, and GI. RNs in this department frequently care for patients experiencing sepsis, respiratory failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, substance abuse withdrawal, and much more. You'll thrive within our collaborative team structure, working alongside dedicated RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), hospitalist physicians, pulmonary intensivists and TeleICU, who are all committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting each other's professional development. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

Requirements

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification
• One year nursing experience

• Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
