About The Position

Fairmount Behavioral Health System, located on a 27-acre wooded campus bordering Fairmount Park in Roxborough, Philadelphia, provides a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. It serves as a major regional resource for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and behavioral problems, as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs, offering leading detox and rehab programs. Fairmount is a provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. This position is for a Part-Time Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit, ensuring care is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and the Nursing Board of Pennsylvania. The RN prescribes, coordinates, and delegates care utilizing the nursing process, integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care, and is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis, promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse
• Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid
• Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• One (1) year prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Prior experience working with specific psychiatric patient population preferred
