A “Registered Nurse” is a person who holds a valid Indiana license, and who bears primary responsibility and accountability for nursing practices based on specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, and behavioral sciences. The patient population in the Cardiovascular (CV) ICU consists of individuals recovering from complex cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, and other advanced cardiovascular interventions. These patients require intensive monitoring, hemodynamic support, and specialized post-operative care to manage potential complications such as arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, and respiratory challenges. The CV Registered Nurse provides expert care to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes for this high-acuity patient population.
