About The Position
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. About This Location: Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, which is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for its excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the region’s only Level 1 Trauma center, is Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas and liver. We also serve as one of North Carolina’s five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties and serve as a satellite for the medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill. Where You Will Work: 4 Tower is a Hematology Oncology and Oncology ICU at Carolinas Medical Center. We have 30 beds, 8 of which are ICU capable. We care for patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma, during initial diagnosis, chemotherapy administration, neutropenic fevers, and complications that result in hospital admission. In our ICU beds, we care for any oncology patient that needs a higher level of care, hematology, solid tumor, and post stem cell transplants. Our patients tend to have multiple admissions for chemotherapy or stay inpatient for an extended period, as a result, the patients and their families build relationships and show appreciation for the care the nurses provide during this incredibly difficult time in their lives. 4 Tower is known for incredible teamwork, empathetic nursing staff, and opportunities to grow and learn from experienced nurses and providers (APPs and Physicians). Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- 6 months of RN experience
