Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Hampshire. Have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant).
  • NRP preferred for hire in Birthing Suite; required within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting serving the same age/type of patient population.
  • ACLS preferred.
  • Specialty certification in nursing

Responsibilities

  • Quality Care: Provide nursing care based on the State of Hampshire Scope of Nursing practice and hospital policy, making independent judgements and seeking guidance and support from appropriate sources when necessary. Develop appropriate plan of care that includes educational needs within 24 hours of patient admission to meet identified patient needs, determine measurable expected outcomes, implement specific nursing interventions, evaluate patient progress each shift and revise care plan accordingly.
  • Leadership: Delegate and oversee care delivered by LPNs, LNAs, EMTs and/or Paramedics, Patient Care Attendants, and scrub technicians: Provide leadership and direction to the patient care staff, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in providing optimal patient care.
  • Patient Safety/Patient Rights: Participate actively in efforts to reduce adverse patient care events, protect patient information, and act ethically in all areas of practice.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively and effectively with all members of the patient care team.
