About The Position

Progressive Community Health Centers is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Registered Nurse! Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, Urgent Care, Dental, and Integrated Behavioral Health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment. The RN works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The RN systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The RN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. The RN establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The RN participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Two years of general nursing in a clinic or hospital setting, and previous experience with patients of all age groups.
  • It is mandatory that all employees, employed providers and volunteers are vaccinated. All hired candidates must submit proof of vaccination prior to their orientation. This is a mandatory requirement for Progressive Community Health Centers. The purpose is to minimize exposure to and transmission of the influenza virus in the workplace by providing occupational protection to employees and thereby preventing exposure to members of the community, which we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as resource to medical support staff. Collaborates with medical staff in carrying out delegated patient care activities.
  • Seeks educational opportunities to increase clinical competence, personal and professional growth through in-house education material, conferences, and community resources.
  • Promote a positive working environment that represents cooperation and collaboration between programs, services and co-workers.
  • Must be willing to use technology to meet competency and performance measurements and evaluations.
  • Actively participate in team and company meetings, in-services, and other events.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations.
  • Demonstrate tact, courtesy and respect in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff as well as outside agencies.
  • Participate in quality efforts to promote appropriate care and services.
