The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in a correctional setting, including assessments, medication administration, treatments, and emergency response. This role will collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans while ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards. The Registered Nurse (RN) will also educate patients on health conditions, monitor their progress, and contribute to a safe and effective healthcare environment. How YOU can Make an Impact: Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and medical interventions in compliance with physician orders and healthcare protocols. Respond to and manage medical emergencies, including trauma and medical crises, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions. Document promptly and properly. Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and local healthcare regulations, as well as facility-specific policies. Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and mental health professionals. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues regarding treatment plans, health education, and health-related concerns. Supervise and assist LPNs and nursing assistants in patient care tasks, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and best practices. Assist with maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment that meets infection control and safety standards. Follow established policies and procedures, including those related to infection control, safety protocols, and medication administration.
