About The Position

Thrive Medical Services LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our correctional healthcare team at the Grant County Detention Center. This role provides direct patient care to an adult incarcerated population in a structured, team-oriented environment focused on safety, clinical quality, and compliance with state and national correctional healthcare standards. The ideal candidate is a confident clinician who works well independently, communicates effectively with custody staff and providers, and is committed to delivering ethical, evidence-based care in a correctional setting.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (correctional, emergency, med-surg, or community health experience preferred)
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a secure environment
  • Comfortable working in a correctional setting with a diverse patient population

Nice To Haves

  • Prior correctional healthcare experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Familiarity with NCCHC or similar correctional healthcare standards
  • Experience in emergency response, triage, or public health settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including sick call, intake screenings, medication administration, and chronic care support
  • Perform nursing assessments, triage, and clinical interventions within RN scope of practice
  • Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with medication administration policies
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with providers and custody staff
  • Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Assist with intake health screenings and ongoing health assessments
  • Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services as applicable
  • Follow infection control, safety, and emergency response protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including providers, mental health staff, and administrative leadership
  • Maintain compliance with NCCHC, NMAC, and facility policies and procedures
