About The Position

Fairmount Behavioral Health System, located on a 27-acre wooded campus, provides a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. It serves as a major regional resource for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and behavioral problems, as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia and offers leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs, specializing in co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. Fairmount Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join its team. The Registered Nurse supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit. This care is delivered consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System, the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and the Nursing Board of Pennsylvania. The RN is responsible for prescribing, coordinating, and delegating care using the nursing process, which is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse
• Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid
• Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• One (1) year prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Prior experience working with specific psychiatric patient population preferred
