About The Position

Compass Health Center is the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, and one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. They are expanding their innovative programs, including a new location launched in September 2023 in Silver Spring, MD. This location is building adolescent and adult programs with an interdisciplinary team and experienced clinicians. The organization helps patients overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles. Compass Health Center is a recognized leader in crisis-level mental health, providing Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient care for ages 5 through adulthood, both onsite and virtually. They are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate direct patient care to all populations, emphasizing exemplary care sensitive to individual psychiatric conditions.

Requirements

  • Hold an Associates Degree (required)
  • Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice in Maryland
  • Certified in Healthcare Provider CPR
  • Possess excellent therapeutic communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Hospital Experience (preferred)
  • Mental health experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Medication administration
  • Nursing Assessments
  • Measuring & recording vitals
  • Phone triage
  • Performing basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies
  • Maintaining medication inventory
  • Provide health, wellness, and medication education
  • Assessment and medical care of illnesses, injuries, and potential side effects
  • Management of special health care needs, including but not limited to asthma, diabetes, and allergies
  • Responsible for infection control and prevention measures
  • Abides by compliance standards of care and supports the evaluation of care provided
  • Coordination of care with outpatient providers
  • Recording patient history and medical findings
  • Assisting providers with writing laboratory orders and retrieving results
  • Assisting with the completion of medical documentation for patients and their families
  • Coordinating with insurance companies for medication and diagnostic prior authorizations
  • Assisting providers with prescription refills
  • Specimen collection
  • Provide support & assistance to the organization’s committees
  • Provide support and assistance during crisis or emergency situations
  • Perform other duties as requested
