About The Position

We are currently recruiting for Registered Nurse to work as a Nurse Facilitator. The primary purpose of the Department of Psychosocial Treatment Nurse Facilitator is to provide psychiatric-mental health nursing care as outlined by the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Practice (2007). The duties include providing patents with nursing group programming, therapeutically communicating with patients not engaged in assigned programming, staff in-service training, and, when required, providing direct supervision to other licensed and non-licensed staff. Employees may function as advisor with the clinical treatment units (Acute Adult, Community Transition, Forensic Services, and Geriatric Services) and have input into treatment planning.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR certification within 60 days.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to utilize the nursing process and to collaborate with other health care clinicians
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of psychiatric nursing for the age groups served
  • Basic understanding of the principles of learning and their application in the direct skills teaching process of psychiatric rehabilitation
  • Skill in presenting psychoeducational and skills-building materials to an inpatient population to maximize learning potential
