About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive occupational and general healthcare services to employees, supporting the mission of the Occupational Health Clinic. This role delivers patient assessments, diagnostic testing, treatments, preventive care, and education while maintaining regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and proper documentation. The RN collaborates with medical providers, clinic staff, and external care resources to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Mississippi.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing with 5–10 years of experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • DOT Urine Drug Screen Collector, Breath Alcohol Technician, Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist, NIOSH Spirometry Certification.
  • Knowledge of occupational health standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 2–5 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vital signs and perform general and special health history assessments.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, including electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, vision testing, tonometry, audiograms, fasting blood glucose, and tuberculosis testing.
  • Administer vaccines and perform minor treatments as indicated.
  • Assist physicians in performing health exams, treatments, and referrals to off-site care providers.
  • Respond to workplace mishaps or injuries, providing on-site evaluation and treatment as needed.
  • Provide patient education on occupational and general health issues.
  • Perform daily equipment calibrations and ensure proper function of clinic medical devices.
  • Maintain refrigerator and freezer logs for medications and biohazard materials.
  • Manage medication and supply inventory, order clinic supplies, and ensure readiness for patient care.
  • Complete all required administrative, medical, and occupational health records.
  • Document and report clinical findings, test results, and patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Participate in clinic quality assurance, continuous improvement programs, and staff education initiatives
