About The Position

Progressive Community Health Centers is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Registered Nurse. Founded in 1999, the organization is an independent non-profit operating four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with over 100 employees. Their mission is to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. They provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, many of whom are low-income, ensuring no one is turned away based on insurance status or ability to pay. Services include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, Urgent Care, Dental, and Integrated Behavioral Health, along with supportive services like case management, health education, and benefits enrollment. The Registered Nurse works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family-centered care. This role involves systematically and continuously collecting and assessing data related to patient health status to develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health, establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers, and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The RN also participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Two years of general nursing in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Previous experience with patients of all age groups.
  • Mandatory vaccination for all employees, employed providers and volunteers, with proof of vaccination required prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as resource to medical support staff.
  • Collaborates with medical staff in carrying out delegated patient care activities.
  • Seeks educational opportunities to increase clinical competence, personal and professional growth through in-house education material, conferences, and community resources.
  • Promote a positive working environment that represents cooperation and collaboration between programs, services and co-workers.
  • Must be willing to use technology to meet competency and performance measurements and evaluations.
  • Actively participate in team and company meetings, in-services, and other events.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations.
  • Demonstrate tact, courtesy and respect in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff as well as outside agencies.
  • Participate in quality efforts to promote appropriate care and services.
