About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an Intermittent Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiology Clinic. The Heart Institute at Northwest provides consultation and follow-up care for patients referred to the clinic for cardiac-related issues. Services include the evaluation and management of cardiac-related health problems, monitor placement, ECGs, patient education, cardiac rehab and cardiac imaging. Requirements

  • Active, valid Washington State or Multi-State RN license required by start date.
  • 2 years of nursing experience, preferably cardiology related and ambulatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ECHO Procedures like Definity Administration and Bubble studies, and stress tests.
  • EPIC and telephone triage -- responds to patients, reviews test results and triages treatment needs, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate, and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients/families.
  • Make independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations.
  • Provides wound care to patients post device implant.
  • Make pre-procedure calls instructing patients in day of procedure process, preparations and medication adjustments, and post-procedure follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care.
  • Supports the prior authorization process for prescribed medications.
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary services to provide a continuum of care for the patient.
