Full Time Nights, 7pm-7:30am, with rotating weekends Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (2A) 26-bed unit designed to provide treatment, care, and service to adult patients with acute medical, surgical and cardiac conditions specializing in complicated surgeries. Patient population will include but are not limited to esophagectomies, whipples, surgical-oncology cases, high-volume liposuction, multi-level spinal fusions, and vascular cases. Other opportunities for this unit will be any surgical patients that require a medication drip that is not appropriate for the medical-surgical inpatient unit. This unit will also be open to medical step-down and overflow patients to enhance hospital throughput. Direct care of the 2A patients will be provided by registered nurses with an ideal ratio of 1:3-4 patients for step down level of care. The Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
