Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering a wide range of services including 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services. This full-time Registered Nurse position in the Labor & Delivery unit is 36 hours per week with a night shift schedule and offers full benefits. The dynamic individual will provide care to pregnant patients during labor, obstetrical emergencies, and other obstetric conditions, focusing on the intrapartum period (labor and birth). Responsibilities include providing support, medical care, constant monitoring of the pregnant patient and fetus, assisting and educating patients on labor and delivery conditions, and offering critical nursing care and comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum education. The role involves providing safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, offering professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, and basing all nursing care on the concepts of Patient Centered Care while demonstrating Service Excellence standards.
