About The Position

Are you the Registered Nurse we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others while working with a dynamic team of nurses by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students! The Chesterfield Group Home offers intensive residential, educational, medical, and clinical services for adolescent boys and girls who are mild to moderately cognitively impaired with concurrent behavioral, mental health, and medical issues. Located in rural Oakdale, CT, our state-of-the-art campus offers warm, home-like facilities in a pastoral setting. Our students have often experienced complex trauma and often have not been successful in other settings. SWCE students typically require additional support in the classroom, as well as with emotional and behavioral difficulties, executive functioning, and life skills.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Connecticut RN license. New graduates welcome to apply!
  • Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Residential program or mental health program experience preferred; experience working with specialized adolescent populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educating and providing health care services to promote healthy choices that enhances our students’ physical and mental well-being.
  • Providing oversight and attention around documenting and administering medications and completing assessments to ensure the best treatment for our students.
  • Helping students and families navigate their medical needs and help provide valuable skills to ensure the students are successful in their next steps.
  • Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
