Job Summary This registered nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients in collaboration with the physician(s), NP or PA. Seeks appropriate assistance and uses clinic resources to enhance clinical decision making. Prepares patients for examinations. Obtains health history information, takes accurate vital signs, and reviews medications. Documents plan of care. Administers treatments and performs diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician. Administers injections and medications. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.

Requirements

  • Successful graduate of a 2-year RN program.
  • Current and unrestricted RN license.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work independently performing a wide variety of duties that require the use of independent judgment, advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to cultivate effective partnerships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, managers, and patients.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation and records.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assists provider in all aspects of medical care, treatments and procedures, diagnostic and laboratory testing following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Triage for appropriate level of care.
  • Assists in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient’s physical condition.
  • Providers support to orientation and training of staff and students.
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned.
