About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Gynecologic Oncology Team. This role involves providing clinical support to patients undergoing evaluation and treatment for gynecologic cancers, including pre-operative, post-operative, and surveillance care. The nurse will play a critical role in patient education, care coordination, and clinical triage, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric, limitations and planned procedures.
  • Requires good judgment in delivering patient care; good oral and written communication skills; ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Must be willing to rotate shifts, days off and work area; may occasionally be required to work overtime.
  • Position requires monthly travel to outreach clinic in Starkville, MS.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in women's health, gynecologic oncology, or outpatient clinic preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing clinical functions with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
  • Complete prior authorizations for surgeries, radiologic studies, and medications.
  • Coordinate care across specialties and departments to support continuity and comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Educate patients and their families about gynecologic cancers, treatment options, recovery expectations, and self-care strategies.
  • Serve as a chaperone during gynecologic exams and assist providers with in-office procedures.
