About The Position

Are you passionate about patient care? Love learning about new things? Then come grow with us at MUSC Health West Ashley! We are seeking a motivated and skilled RN to join the Specialty Clinics team. Located at the MUSC Citadel Mall building in West Ashley, it is one team that serves multiple specialties throughout the week, such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Pulmonary. The team members (RNs, LPNs and Medical Assistants) work alongside the providers of each specialty to care for their patients. This position is primarily based in the Cardiology area, with the opportunity to cross-train for all specialties. Duties to include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, returning patient messages, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures. Experience in Cardiology and Stress Testing preferred. We work in a fast-paced environment, but we also know how to have fun on the job. Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: This position has the option to be either 4-10’s (7am-5:30pm) or 5-8’s (8am-4:30pm) Monday through Friday. No weekends or holidays and free on-site parking. Requirements

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or Nursing License Compact.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Current South Carolina RN License or multi-state Nursing License Compact and BLS required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting.
Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions.
Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors.
Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs.
Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Cardiology and Stress Testing preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC.
Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
