Part-Time Limited- 12 hours a week We are currently seeking Part-Time Limited Registered Nurses (RN) for our day shift (Day: 6:45AM-7:15PM; Schedule will be working every Wednesday only; 1 day a week; 12-hour shifts; no weekends). Registered Nurses are responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/ or specific instructions from the Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager. This position provides nursing assessment, care oversight, and quality assurance for all residents; this includes scheduled appointments, chart reviews, and nursing assessment, as well as nursing interventions and treatments.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Knowledge and experience working with senior communities in a long-term care facility.
  • Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia.
  • At least one year full-time clinical experience in a Home Health agency or related community health program.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, family members, doctors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe.
  • Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly, and use tact in dealing with others.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care to residents including personal care, feeding, medications, treatments and proper documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Health Center.
  • Completes rounds every two hours and as needed.
  • Receive reports and make rounds at the beginning of the shift.
  • Gives report to oncoming shift.
  • Answers the telephone inquiries about residents.
  • Receives and transcribe physicians’ orders.
  • Assesses residents’ condition and needs.
  • Contributes toward development of resident care plans utilizing all knowledge of restorative and rehabilitative nursing principles.
  • Checks all equipment to ascertain good working conditions.
  • Monitors supplies and inventory.
  • Requests supplies as needed.
  • Performs charting duties, maintain narcotic records and medication records.
  • Administers emergency care, notify physician and family or resident’s representative of emergency and renders follow-up care according to orders.
  • Checks charts for specified treatment and medication as ordered for individual residents.
  • Checks and administers medications, performs other professional nursing duties as required.
  • Accompanies and assists attending physician with examinations.
  • Reviews care plan, medication, stop orders, prescriptions needed.
  • Notifies Physician of condition charges in resident or any unusual or abnormal observations.
  • Maintains nurse’s station and medication preparation room as prescribed by law.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behaviors set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of duties.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
