About The Position

St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee is seeking a Full Time Nights Telemetry Nurse to join their dedicated team. This role focuses on caring for a diverse patient population with an emphasis on cardiac monitoring and stroke recovery. It offers a supportive hospital setting, ideal for experienced RNs looking to specialize in high-acuity care, as well as new graduates seeking hands-on experience and leadership development. The team is family-oriented with strong teamwork, long-tenured RNs, and leadership committed to mentoring and growth. A $10,000 retention bonus is available.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
  • Be directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
  • Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry readings.
  • Perform routine RN duties including assessments, bedside dialysis, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and improve outcomes.
