About The Position

Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro Oncology Department. This role supports two Neuro Oncology physicians and provides specialized care exclusively to patients with brain tumors. The RN will work within a multidisciplinary team, including a Nurse Practitioner (NP), a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Master Social Worker (MSW), and Medical Office Assistant (MOA), to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care. This position offers a predictable weekday schedule with no weekends, or major holidays. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to neuro oncology patients
  • Perform patient assessments, including neurological evaluations and symptom monitoring
  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications in accordance with provider orders and clinical protocols
  • Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and side-effect management
  • Triage patient calls and electronic messages related to symptoms and treatment concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians, NP, and clinical support staff to coordinate care and follow-up
  • Document clinical care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (Epic-EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
