The position is within the Correctional Care Medical Facility (CCMF), a 19-bed medical/surgical unit dedicated to caring for contracted correctional patients. CCMF is a universal specialty unit, providing care across various medical fields including Psychiatry, Cardiology, OB/Gyn, Surgery, acute trauma, and chronic disease. This unit is ideal for new graduates seeking to learn or experienced nurses looking to diversify their skills and advance their careers. It offers impartial, high-quality care to vulnerable and marginalized patients, providing a challenging yet rewarding work environment. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse will adhere to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The role involves applying critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes, while utilizing the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice.
