About The Position
UW Medical Center-Northwest - Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Registered Nurse. The Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning supports a wide range of individuals, including low acuity patients and patients with multiple comorbidities We are a unique unit, providing dedicated medical-surgical and telemetry care to the behavioral health population We have 50 beds and consistently hold 1:4 and 1:5 nurse to patient ratios Our patients receive holistic treatment, addressing their physical, medical, and mental health needs Work at a state-of-the-art facility Great opportunity for experienced medical-surgical RNs with an interest in behavioral health care
Requirements
- Active BLS
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Responsibilities
- Provide medical-surgical care to behavioral health patients, including those with psychiatric comorbidities
- Ensure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocols
- Administer oral and injectable medications
- Monitor vital signs using telemetry equipment
- Assess and manage pain
- Provide education and discharge instructions to patients and their families
- Provide personalized care with compassion, dignity, and respect
