About The Position

The University of Miami, UMH has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse in the UPAC department at the UTower location. The Registered Nurse 2 – PRN (U) delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service while ensuring population-specific patient care. The Registered Nurse 2 – PRN (U) oversees nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for applying the nursing process in the delivery of quality peri-anesthesia patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures. The RN serves as a patient advocate, practices ethical, conscientious behavior, and utilizes theoretical knowledge to integrate care. The RN directs and guides the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The RN is responsible for assisting in the orientation of new personnel. A safe practitioner who continually strives to improve clinical knowledge and skills and demonstrates effective public relation and communication skills in dealing with physicians, patients, visitors and staff. Requirements

A graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid State of FL RN license
One (1) year of Surgical Prep or Preoperative Nursing experience.
Three (3) years Registered Nurse experience required.
Must have current BLS and ACLS certification.
Any combination of relevant education, work experience, and / or certifications will be considered.
