RN / Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health Civil Commitment Unit
About The Position
UW Medical Center–Northwest - Long Term Civil Commitment Unit has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse . The Long Term Civil Commitment Unit supports involuntary psychiatric admits who require extended periods of care, including those requiring multi-month hospital stays (90 to 180 days) Our services include highly structured psychiatric care, services for patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and programs that promote independent functioning and transition to the community Our unit has a residential feel, with ample natural light and outdoor patient areas to promote serenity, comfort, and healing Our nurses play a key role providing person-centered care in a positive clinical environment
Requirements
- 1 year of behavioral health RN work experience
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- Active BLS
Responsibilities
- Triage incoming patients
- Provide behavioral health education to psychiatric patients and their families
- Ensure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocols
- Monitor and administer oral and injectable medications
- Coordinate patient care with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists
- Provide personalized care to psychiatric patients with compassion, dignity, and respect
Benefits
- BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
- Certification premium - $1.25/hour
- Night premium - $5.00/hour
- Weekend premium - $4.00/hour
