About The Position

As a Registered Nurse - IV, your nursing experience and leadership abilities allow you to develop and implement quality care plans for patients, while acting as a mentor to others on the unit. Job Title: Registered Nurse Department: Intensive Care Unit Location: Newark Wayne Hospital Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule: 6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am + every other weekend and holiday Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family . Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family . Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities . Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred
  • 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills
