JOB SUMMARY: A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse that delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing for the age groups served. The resource/float nurse will be scheduled in advance for planned on various nursing units. The Resource/Float Nurses are scheduled through the nursing staffing office. The Float Nurse will be used for unplanned absences in various departments as needed The Float Nurses are scheduled through the nursing staffing office.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment.
  • 2 years of medical-surgical clinical experience preferred.
  • Associate degree required BSN preferred.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work various units as assigned by the house supervisor.
  • ACLS is required within 6 months and PALS additionally is preferred.
  • 1-year critical care experience is preferred.
  • Successfully completes care competencies of all patient care areas where assignments are likely to occur.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of medical-surgical clinical experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • ACLS is required within 6 months and PALS additionally is preferred.
  • 1-year critical care experience is preferred.
