About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
• For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045)
• A minimum of one (1) year of emergency registered nurse experience
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon completion of department orientation
• National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke certification upon completion of department orientation
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention certification upon completion of department orientation
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within one (1) year of completing department orientation (PRN Plan 4 employees are required to have upon hire)
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within one (1) year of completing department orientation (PRN Plan 4 employees are required to have upon hire)
• All certifications must be maintained thereafter
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
• FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License

Nice To Haves

• Certification in nursing specialty area
• BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
