About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), providing direct patient care within their scope of practice. This role also involves directing and guiding patient/family teaching and other nursing personnel activities, maintaining care standards in the DOU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for assigned patient care, communicating with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology, and must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current valid State Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred
  • critical care preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice
