At FBH we have a variety of client services, including outpatient, inpatient, community outreach, crisis services, partnerships with schools, law enforcement and more. Our evidence-based, culturally appropriate, trauma informed behavioral health services address the diverse needs of those we serve. In this position, you will provide direct treatment services in an inpatient setting to adults who are experiencing serious and/or chronic mental health disorders. This includes taking vital signs, administering medications, completing nursing assessments, and documenting patient responses. Additionally, completing admissions, discharges and transferring patients are common aspects of the position. SHIFT: Monday-Friday -3PM-11:30PM - Foothills Location - This shift has added shift differential of 6.23%.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the State of Washington at the time of hire.
  • Active BLS within 90 days of hire and must maintain active BLS
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, education levels and socio-economic status.
  • Ability to apply trauma-informed concepts and practices related to patient care.
  • Must have basic computer skills including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word and intranet.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience in Psychiatric setting.
  • Previous inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor patient basic care utilizing the nursing process within the RN scope of practice.
  • Medication administration/safety/monitoring.
  • Carry out physicians’ orders as assigned.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and goal-oriented productivity within scope of practice.
  • Carry out care plan objectives and goals.
  • Assist in delivery of client education.
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all state WACs.
  • Facilitate therapeutic communication with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Complete through, timely incident reports as needed.
  • Respond to a patient needs and concerns and escalate through supervisory chain as indicated.
  • Complete thorough, accurate and complete reporting and documentation of patient’s symptoms, and progress.
  • Effectively utilize customer service and motivational interviewing skills to promote appropriate patient centered care.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in responding to change and in working with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
