We are seeking an individual with a minimum of one year of RN experience for this role. Hours: 16 hours a week. Port Room Nurses are clinical experts in vascular access who specialize in the assessment and placement of appropriate IV catheters. They are highly skilled in inserting peripheral IVs and accessing Port‑a‑Cath and PICC lines, as well as evaluating vein health for peripheral lab draws and chemotherapy treatment needs. These nurses provide patient education on catheter placement, use, and ongoing maintenance—both in the clinical setting and for those discharged with an accessed port or PICC line for infusion. They also perform device maintenance, including dressing changes, flushing, and troubleshooting, while educating patients and staff on proper line care and infection prevention. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
