About The Position

MaineGeneral is actively seeking New Graduate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our skilled nursing team at Gray Birch. Registered Nurse (RN) – New Grad Friendly | Skilled Nursing Location: Gray Birch, Augusta Schedule: Full-time (36 hours/week) Shift: Day and Night shifts available An early acceptance incentive of $4000 awaits qualified new graduate Registered Nurse candidates Candidates are encouraged to apply at least 6 weeks before their graduation date; however, some exceptions may be made based on program needs and timing. Offer letters should be signed within 1 week of receipt. The incentive is paid in full in your first paycheck as a Registered Nurse. What is a Skilled Nursing Unit? A skilled nursing unit in long-term care is a fast-paced, clinical environment where patients receive short-term rehabilitation or ongoing medical care after a hospital stay. Patients often have complex needs such as wound care, IV therapy, post-surgical recovery, or management of chronic conditions. This setting allows you to spend more time with your patients, build meaningful relationships, and see their progress over time—all while developing strong clinical and critical-thinking skills.

Requirements

Active State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain)
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
Team-oriented mindset and adaptability

Responsibilities

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
May perform assigned supervisory responsibilities as needed.
