We have a total of 206 licensed acute beds and are one of the largest providers of acute inpatient services in Southeastern Pennsylvania . The Horsham Clinic also offers partial hospitalization services for children, teens and adults at our main campus in Ambler, and at our Chester County and Delaware County partial programs . The Registered Nurse is a key member of the treatment team and works under the supervis ion of the CNO, ADON, and Nurse Manager. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and activities of daily living. RNs will coordinat e, delegat e, evaluate and monitor nursing care for a variety of psychiatric patients. Successful candidates must demonstrate leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment , flexibility for reassignment to various units/ populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients , and must know and comply with all confidentiality laws and regulation, e.g., HIPPA . RNs should also demonstrate respect and understanding of patients, as well as be able to effectively engage with all levels of stakeholders, including our CEO and CNO, various departments, patients and their families. The work is performed in a hospital/inpatient behavioral health setting , therefore, there exists a potential for exposure to environmental hazards and contagious diseases, exposure to crisis/emergency situations, and exposure to all infectious diseases including HIV/TB/Hepatitis, blood and body fluids and needle sticks .

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelors from an accredited Nursing School/Program required
  • Registered Nursing License required; license is in good standing
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in addiction or inpatient psychiatric health setting preferred
  • Experience in creating and maintaining patient treatment plans preferred
  • EMR experience preferred; computer- base knowledge preferred
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strategic and empathetic decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Ensure patient and environmental safety by conducting u nit s afety checks and p atient r ounds observations
  • C oordinate and communicate effectively and efficiently with Doctors, Treatment Team, and other departments involving patient care .
  • Demonstrate a level of leadership and direction within patient care parameters.
  • Perform contraband searches as needed .
  • Oversee patient vitals; perform vitals as needed .
  • Administering and monitoring medications under the supervision of a Physician .
  • RN may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and will oversee the workflow of the unit as required .
