PHMC serves as both a direct service provider to individuals, families, and communities across the region and as an intermediary agent — managing large-scale contracts, government and philanthropic partnerships, and multidisciplinary initiatives that require operational sophistication, strategic leadership, and deep mission alignment. Job Overview: Provision of nursing care services and care management for women with children (from birth to 12 years of age) at Interim House West. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks under the direct supervision of the Program Director. The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the management team. It is responsible for the overall coordination of IHW’s medical department, consisting of one RN, a half-time LPN, nursing assistants, residential assistants, and a program psychiatrist. IHW is an evidence-based/ supported holistic substance use program for pregnant and parenting women with up to 3 children, and is located in the Parkside section of Philadelphia. The program has the capacity to serve 22 women and up to 45 children (ages 0 to 12) at any given time. IHW serves women who suffer from addiction and/or trauma-related disorders; many are referred from the criminal justice system. Primary responsibilities include overall responsibility of the medical department, supervision of LPNs, Nursing assistants, residential assistants, as well as serving as healthcare liaison for our program psychiatrist, coordinating and managing client medical and dental appointments, dispensing medication, including MAT’s, and handling sick call.
