About The Position
REGISTERED NURSE - CARDIAC INTERMEDIATE CARE UNIT - 36 HOURS - NIGHTS Sign On Bonus $10,000 Full Time Benefit Eligible Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week GENERAL SUMMARY: Unit Description: Henry Ford St John Hospital's 5 North Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit is a 36 bed, medical surgical stepdown unit specializing in the care of patients with chest pain, arrhythmias and heart failure. The majority of our patients are admitted via our Emergency Department and have an average stay of about 5 days. We partner closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab for pre and postoperative care. Our nurses have an average patient ratio of 3-4:1, and the support of Registered Nurse Leadership, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians. Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Requirements
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
